Sarah and Chris - Aspen Wedding Deck & The Little Nell

In August, I had the privilege to photograph Sarah and Chris's wedding at one of my favorite (and frequently photographed) venues: the Aspen Mountain wedding deck. That Saturday, the weather was threatening and the gondola was shut down for some time that afternoon. It came down to the wire, but we were able to upload on schedule and proceed with the outdoor ceremony on time.

You could see upon arriving at the top that there was a squall off in the distance to the south, but to the north, sunny blue Colorado skies. The clouds certainly added to the excitement of the day.

Sarah and Chris are fabulous people with genuine personalities and a sense of humor to match. The wedding itself was an intimate affair; small with only close friends and family in attendance.  

Only the ceremony was on the wedding deck, so we had to download to the base of the mountain and walk a few steps over to The Little Nell for the reception in the Wine Room. The ride down the gondola offers a spectacular view of the Town of Apsen. 

The couple's two dogs are as much family as pets and were included in the couple's portraits.

Sarah's brother who could not make the wedding because of his service to our country, gave a moving toast via computer, previously recorded without the bride's knowledge.

To sum it up, the whole affair was genuine, intimate, and classy. A perfect reflection of the couple.
