Kerry & Steve - Daniels & Fisher Clock Tower
The iconic Clock Tower in Downtown Denver on 16th Street Mall was the setting for Kerry and Steve's wedding in late September. The Clock Tower is an incredibly cool venue for a wedding and offers a variety of settings that can be incorporated into the wedding photography: spiral staircases, the giant clock face, a balcony with a 360 degree view, multiple levels, and other nooks and crannies throughout.
The top of the tower served as the bridal preparation room with a spiral staircase leading up to the bell tower.
The elevator in the tower only takes you to the bottom of five floors that make up the wedding venue space. So, needless to say there were beaucoup stairs to navigate between levels.
Guests were welcomed on the first of the five floors and signed the couple's guestbook (an atlas, see below) and grabbed their table assignments for the reception.
The next level up served as the ceremony and reception/dining space. I love the following photo with the wedding party getting last minute instructions from the officiant just prior to the ceremony.
This small space was quite challenging to photograph and didn't offer much room to move around without being disruptive to the ceremony. But we managed. Another one of my favorite shots is the following picture of the M.O.B. as her soon-to-be son-in-law enters.
The silhouette with the clock tower framing the shot was a really unique addition to include into the ceremony coverage.
The following photo was taken off the mirrored edge of a table flanking the entrance.
Not too often you can get a first kiss shot like this...
Kerry and Steve were so happy and excited throughout the entire day I spent with them. They were able to shrug off all of the typical minor glitches that accompany every wedding as they were laser focused on having a good time. This attitude made my job very easy and enjoyable.
The third of the five levels was a pass through level that leads up to the bar/cocktail hour. I was on this level when I happen to glance down and grab this shot of the bride showing off her wedding ring to some guests.
Here's a detail of the spiral staircase on the top floor that leads up to the bell tower.
The cocktail hour included the 360 degree balcony with spectacular views during sunset and really wowed the guests who were mainly from out of town.
How cool to have dinner behind an enormous clock face!
Perfect timing for a great panoramic of downtown Denver during sunset. Click to see a larger version.
This concluding shot looks east along 16th Street Mall.
As I mentioned previously, Kerry and Steve were fantastic to work with, fun-loving, genuine people who are truly in love with each other. We wish them all the best in the lives together!
